Are there any good aftermarket (non- John Deere) 'belly' mowers avaialable for the 2210? Local JD dealer wants $1500 for the JD 54" right now and that seems kinda steep! Any other options??

You won't find any aftermarket mowers for many of the newer tractors. The price you were quoted is in line. ....

Yes. He said we could set my tractor on the concrete pad in front of our pole barn and they'd deliver / install it there. When I bought my 2210 two years ago, I could have gotten the deck for $1100. That's why I was asking about the price. Seemed like a considerable increase. ....

MMM's are typically the most expensive. In the past 2 years, the price of steel has nearly doubled as has the price of fuel. I would say that your dealer is offering you a pretty good deal especially if he will bring it to you AND install it. If you want a MMM, I would say go for it. A MMM on a 4410 cost the better part of $4,000 just to give you an idea of price range. ....

I know the $'s are a factor, but I'd recommend the 62C deck: it has a better overlap over the wheelbase, reduces the uncut circle to 36", which makes the tractor more maneuverable -- in addition to effectively pushing the ROPS away from trees etc.

Cheers
